Web Proxy: What Is It?

Web based proxy servers allow you to hide your IP address from web sites so that you can surf anonymously. Simply enter your URL ex. http://example.com and you are directed to the site. There is no software to install and no browser configuration necessary.

Web proxies are not new. A proxy is a server that forwards requests to other servers. People have used them for years to bypass network filters and access the internet that is restricted at work or school. Traffic is routed through an anonymous domain, then to the web site.

“Privacy is not a crime and anonymity is not morally ambiguous or wrong, they are your right.” -Zelune The Worlds Fastest Proxy Script. There are advocates who think the anonymity on the web is wrong. Keep in mind, though, anyone on the internet can pull up a map to your town using your IP, but not when you go through a web proxy.

It is easy to give it a try. Simply follow one of these links and enter a web address and browse. Pogo Proxy and Seminole Proxy. They both use the Zelune script which is very fast. Take it with you. You can use these addresses from any computer, anywhere. Unlike many web proxies, you can surf You Tube as well.

The intention of this article is not to empower “black-hat” uses for the web proxy, but possibly introduce or educate the use of a web proxy. At BloggingThat.com we encourage you to use common sense and not get fired from work or in trouble at school.

Little Jerry Blog

Bloggingthat would like to congratulate Little Jerry on his recent web launch. Not bad for a “gobbler”.

Toy Packaging Gone Wrong

How much wire does it take to package a toy doll? Fact: The average Doll package contains enough wire to wrap around the Earth twice at its largest diameter.

Do the toy manufacturers not understand that the kids want this stuff open now. Rubber bands, wire, tape, hot glue and even screws hold the dolls inside of their packaging so tightly it would be quicker to take out the “axis of evil” than a doll from the box to which its hair is sewn. Has toy packaging gone wrong? I can see the view of the collector wanting each item in place for an eternity, but two eternities? It is ridiculous I think.

I’m not saying the packages should be easy enough for a child to open, only without the need for a power nibbler, wire snips, clamps and a samurai sword.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Godaddy Team Up

BloggingThat and affiliates BloggingThis and ReelGoodFishing are hosted by Godaddy. On December 19, 2007 at noon, Godaddy’s brand new NASCAR #5 Chevrolet was unveiled. It is a sharp looking car and I am looking forward to seeing it on the track cleaning up Jeff Gordon.

The notorious Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be driving the car for the first time at Texas Motor Speedway on April 5. Dale was unavailable for comment. Who am I kidding, like he’d talk to me. The picture is from Godaddy as well, so if I have infringed on anyone, the web sites will likely disappear.

According to BloggingThat sources, Dale Jr. is single. This may put him in the “pole position” when it comes to # 69 Danica Patrick of Maxim Magazine’s Hot 100 and Godaddy. You can’t make this stuff up.

The Need For Speed

I got a ticket while driving through Georgia last night. There was no use in denying my land speed record attempt. Maybe I underestimated the power of the Camry. I guess I shouldn’t have given the squirrels that Red Bull at the last truck stop. The trooper was nice and knocked 6 MPH off the ticket so I wouldn’t get points. Merry Christmas. I was actually happy that I didn’t have to go to that stupid comedy driving school, again.

Inbox Zero (Implemented)

A couple of months ago I received an email with a link to 43Folders and the optimism of gaining control of my email inbox. After watching Merlins: Inbox Zero Presentation I began to realize the concept of this idea. I feel I have taken back a lost piece of my life. You can also download the PDF slides of the presentation here.

The most powerful notion is of deciding what to do with each email immediately and never having to read it more than once. I also enjoy the pre-canned messages for fast, easy response. If you only commit to one concept, you will be better off than before.

Inbox Zero Remember, an email is not a little hug.

Merlin Mann is the creative force behind 43Folders amidst other endeavors like The Merlin Show and 5ives which is a list of five things. Be sure to check them out. Look at his bio here. You can email Merlin Mann here to thank him.
